Real-life Application

Now that we've wrapped up the semester, I was interested in seeing how you guys would take this class and use it in your daily life (or in the future)! Everything that the authors talked about, as well as all the advice we were given from Dr Donovan, classmates, etc has to have had some lasting impact on your work or writing, and I wanted to know how you all would go out and use what you learned in this class. If not, what did you not like about what someone said/did and how can you use that and turn it to your advantage/learn from it?

  1. I think some of the things we learned in this class can defenately be applied to our every day life. I clearly remember some of the advice that Daniel Abraham shared with us. I remember when he told us that no matter what your profession is, you should always try to be someone pleasing to work with. I think this is very true and it can apply in our everyday life. Life is much easier if you work in a place where everyone is friendly and easy to work with. I have a very stressful but rewarding job (I'm a pre-K teacher) and ever since Mr. Abraham told us this, I have tried to apply this idea at my job. I have noticed that people do react to you differently if you always smile and are someone fun to work with. I suggest everyone try this!

In regards to your question about something we didn't agree with, well that is a little difficult. I can't really think about something I strongely disagreed with. The one thing I can think of is that maybe some of us don't necessarily agree with certain positions on topics that have been brought up in class. However, I think it is important for us to read and be informed about them because this way we know the struggles that different people have had and most importantly we learn to tolerate.
